Final Salute To 9/11 Rescue Dog

Final Salute To 9/11 Rescue Dog

Bretagne (pronounced Brittany), the last living search and rescue service dog to work at Ground Zeroon 9/11 was put down in early June.

The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department organized an honor guard for as a final salute for her last walk into the veterinary clinic.

As background, our Legendary Rescue Balm was sent down to New York City to aid relief efforts. After the tragedy, Bag Balm was used on the paw pads of dozens of search dogs who worked for endless hours in the rubble looking for survivors.

Thank you to Bretagne and all of the other search dogs from 9/11 for your service.
